I think it was maybe about 20 minutes ago that I realized the joy of being alone and unemployed. I was sitting on the front porch, eating leftover pesto, and it had just rained. The sun cracked through a cloud and turned some of the leaves yellower, and it just felt good.

2006 was a bitch for a lot of people I know. A lot of people got sick, and some people died. Bush killed the 3,000th American soldier today, to say something about the man's timing.
But I had a great year, I think.
